Peebles Turning Tool Handles

A few months ago I began to use the wonderful tools made by Doug Thompson. They have since become my favorite turning tools. But Doug sells these tools unhandled. So I set about making some handles for myself. I have been using them for some time and have gotten good feedback from other turners that have tried them.

They are  made from 6061 Aluminum and are covered with Braided Vinyl tubing. The tools are bored 2 1/4" deep to securely hold the turning tool. The tool is locked into place with two 8mm set screws.

If you need a handle longer or shorter or to hold a different size gouge, just let me know. I am pretty flexible and will try to make just what you need.

After receiving some excellent feedback from many wood turners, I am now offering my handles in several different sizes. I have also begun to put a colored stripe under the vinyl on each handle.

If you've found your way to my web page, chances are you're either a fellow woodturner or a person interested in the art of woodturning. Either way, thanks for visiting; I hope you share my enthusiasm for this ancient craft. Although the art of woodturning goes back many centuries, up until recently most turnings were utilitarian. While some of my turnings could be considered utilitarian, most of the recent ones are headed in new directions. I hope you like where I'm going. After all, as they say, it's not the destination, but the journey.
